Client: Welk Resorts San Diego
Pool Signage: Who stands and reads the pool rules before they jump in the pool? No one! but legally they have to be there and the pool areas at Welk Resorts San Diego had a lot of signs telling you what you can and can't do, sometimes multiple signs saying the same thing. To avoid visual clutter the Director of Operations wanted to get rid of as many of these signs as legally possible at the same time make them consistent. I like to showcase this specific project because as simple as it looks it was one of the longest and most difficult projects I've ever worked on. The limitations and legal requirements on what I can and can't show and even how big the letters have to be was a rude awakening to everyone involved in this project. Even placement of this sign had a legal requirement. In the end it was a big hit and the four additional pools at the resort also got a signage make over.

Bar & Grill Signage: At two of the five pools we had at Welk Resorts San Diego, two of them had an eatery but sales were super low since no one knew it was even there for lack of branding. I was asked to brand these with the names of two famous beaches in San Diego County, Windansea and Trestles. It was to have a surfer vibe with both grills looking cohesive but still able to stand alone.
This rebrand contributed to tripling year-over-year sales resulting and eliminating guest complaints and wayfinding issues.
